Brand

Brand is a Dutch brewery in Wijlre, in the south of the province of Limburg. It describes itself as the oldest brewery in the Netherlands, tracing beer brewing at the site back to 1340. Since 1989 Brand has been part of Heineken, the Amsterdam-based brewing group.

Beers

Brand is known for its pilsner and for specialty beers; the range on its website includes an IPA. The brewery sells its beers in the Netherlands and also welcomes visitors at Wijlre. In 2025 Heineken announced that lager production at the Brand brewery would stop, while the brand and its specialty beers continue.

Heritage

The brewery stands in Wijlre in south Limburg, and the claim of being the oldest in the country rests on beer having been brewed in the village since 1340. The brand's own website describes it that way, and independent beer sites repeat it. Today the brand is mainly known in the Netherlands.
