Capture One
WebsiteCapture One is photo editing and workflow software from Danish company Capture One A/S, headquartered in Frederiksberg. Its software history began in 1994 as a RAW image converter for Phase One cameras. The product has since grown into a desktop, mobile and studio toolkit for organizing, editing and delivering photographs.
RAW development and image editing
Capture One Pro processes RAW files and provides controls for color, exposure, highlights, shadows and detail. Its editing tools include masks, layers, retouching and automated subject selection. Photographers can use the software to develop images from supported camera files while keeping editing adjustments within a digital workflow.
Tethered shooting in the studio
The desktop software can connect to supported cameras for tethered capture. New images appear in the session for immediate viewing, rating, organization and adjustment. Live View and camera controls help a photographer check composition and settings on set. Capture One publishes compatibility information for supported camera models.
Sessions, catalogs and collaboration
Users can organize projects in Sessions or manage larger image libraries in Catalogs. The wider product plans add options such as mobile editing, online collaboration and shared settings. Studio tools are designed for production teams that need multiple viewers, automatic backups and repeatable workflows.
For photographers and teams
Capture One sells Pro for individual editing, Mobile for iPhone and iPad, and Studio or All in One plans for broader collaboration.
