Costa Nova

Costa Nova is a Portuguese stoneware brand from Vagos, near Aveiro. It belongs to the COSTA NOVA Industria group, which grew out of Grestel, founded in 1998 by the materials engineers Miguel Casal and Rui Batel. The Costa Nova brand itself was launched in 2005.

Products

• Fine stoneware tableware, ovenware and serving accessories, made in Portugal from locally sourced raw materials.
• Ecogres, a registered ceramic body made with recycled ceramic surplus and by-products.
• A porcelain collection called Resonance, launched in October 2023 and designed by Carsten Gollnick.
• The sister brand Casafina by Costa Nova, plus private label production for other international brands.

Company

The group runs three production sites, Grestel 2, Grestel 3 and Ecogres. More than 85 percent of its output is exported, with the United States as the main market. Since 2021 the shares are held by the management around CEO Miguel Casal.
