Dermacol is a Czech cosmetics company headquartered in Prague and operated by Dermacol, a.s. The brand began in 1966 at Barrandov Film Studios, where film make-up specialists worked with dermatologists from Prague's Medical Cosmetics Institute. Their early project was a high-coverage foundation designed to conceal skin imperfections for everyday use as well as film. Dermacol traces the current Make-up Cover to this collaboration and says film studios in Hollywood licensed its use in 1969.

Make-up with an origin story

Make-up Cover remains part of Dermacol's current range, alongside lighter and medium coverage foundations, concealers, powders, mascara, eye products, lip colour and nail cosmetics. The Czech catalogue also lists longwear and waterproof items and products with SPF. These lines give shoppers options for everyday coverage or more theatrical looks. Product claims such as wear time, water resistance and skin compatibility belong to particular formulas, so the shade, ingredient list and instructions should be checked for each item.

Skin and body care

The portfolio extends beyond make-up into face creams, cleansers, toners, serums, masks, sun protection, body care, bath products and fragrances. Current lines include 3D Hyaluron Therapy, Acneclear, Aqua Aqua, Bio Retinol, Caviar Energy, Collagen+ and Sensitive. Their pages can be filtered by skin type, age and intended effect. Dermacol says its Czech site offers direct online shopping and a beauty club for repeat customers; authorized distributors make the products available in many markets.

A Czech brand with international distribution

Dermacol's official history says the brand later became a Czech family business led by the Komárov family. Production moved to Brno, where the company says its factory employs more than 200 people. The Prague legal address and active product catalogue confirm that the operating company remains based in Czechia. The export network spans dozens of countries, with stores and retail points alongside third-party distributors. That mix supports a broad consumer cosmetics business with a distinctive Czech origin.
