Douze Cycles is a French cargo-bike maker operated by Douze Factory SASU, whose registered office is in Longvic. The company designs and assembles cargo bikes for family transport, daily urban trips and professional use. Its range includes front-loading bikes and longtails.

Founded around a modular bike

The project began in 2011 after industrial designer Thomas Coulbeaut encountered cargo bikes in Copenhagen. His first design used a frame that could separate into two parts and accommodate different front lengths. The company dates its beginning to 12 December 2012, then developed the V2 with cable steering and an open frame as a defining front-loader.

Front loaders and longtails

The V2 is configurable with different frame lengths, rear shapes and components, allowing it to carry children or goods. The Heta is another front-loading model. The LT line places cargo and passengers at the rear; the current LT24 is designed as an everyday family and utility bike and can carry up to two children.

Designed and assembled in France

Douze says it designs and assembles all its cargo bikes in France. Frame manufacturing depends on the model: the V2 frames come from Taiwan, LT frames from Portugal and Heta frames from France.

For short urban journeys

The bikes are intended to make practical trips by bicycle easier, including school runs, shopping, local deliveries and work fleets. Accessories such as cargo boxes, child seats and covers let riders configure a bike for a particular load. Douze sells through its online catalogue and dealer network, where buyers can arrange to try selected models.
