ELAC Logo

ELAC is a German audio company founded in Kiel on 1 September 1926. It began as an electroacoustic research business working on sonar and sound in air and water. Today ELAC develops speakers and home audio products, combining a long engineering history with product ranges for music, home cinema and installed systems.

From acoustic research to music

ELAC introduced the PW1 record player as its first consumer product in 1948. Later milestones included the 4Pi omnidirectional tweeter in 1985 and the JET ribbon tweeter in 1993. The company’s current products continue that focus on sound reproduction and electroacoustic design.

Speakers for different systems

The catalog includes bookshelf and floorstanding speakers, center channels, soundbars, powered models and speakers for in wall or in ceiling installation. Product families include Debut, UniFi, Vela and Concentro. This allows a customer to build a stereo setup, add surround channels or choose speakers for a fixed installation.

Turntables, subwoofers and electronics

ELAC also sells Miracord turntables, subwoofers, amplifiers and accessories. Its Debut 3.0 range includes passive speakers and dedicated subwoofers, while Debut ConneX provides powered speakers with built in connections. The official catalog also lists mounting hardware, stands and speaker cables.

Room and listening use

Buyers can compare compact, floorstanding, active and architectural products according to room size and system needs. Separate center speakers and subwoofers support home cinema configurations, while stereo models serve music listening. Product pages provide specifications and manuals for planning placement and system matching.
