Emma Sleep

Emma, legally Emma Sleep GmbH, is a sleep company from Frankfurt am Main. It was founded in 2015 by Manuel Müller and Dr. Dennis Schmoltzi, who still act as managing directors. Emma began as an online mattress brand with a 100-day free trial and now sells in more than 25 markets. Since 2023 it has also run its own stores, with more than 25 across Europe.

Range

• Mattresses built on in-house materials: the AirGrid lattice, a gel-like polymer with large air pockets for breathability, and Diamond Degree Foam with a graphite coating that conducts heat away
• Box-spring beds (Signature Bed), toppers, pillows and sleep accessories
• Direct online ordering, plus showrooms in several European countries

Ownership

In April 2020 the German holding company Haniel (Franz Haniel & Cie.) acquired 50.1 percent of Emma; the two founders kept 24.95 percent each. Emma is therefore no longer fully founder-owned, but its owners are European.
