Etnia Barcelona
WebsiteEtnia Barcelona is a Spanish eyewear label operated by ETNIA EYEWEAR CULTURE, S.L. in Esplugues de Llobregat near Barcelona. Its catalogue combines optical frames with sunglasses for adults and children.
Family origins
The company traces its eyewear roots to a factory opened by Fulgencio Ramo in the 1950s. His children continued the trade, and David Pellicer joined the family business in the 1990s. He created the independent Etnia Barcelona brand in 2001 and remains its owner.
Frames and collections
The current range is divided into optical glasses and sunglasses, with styles for women, men and kids. The official store also lists special editions and artist collaborations. Collections use varied shapes and colours, while individual product pages specify frame sizes and available finishes.
Materials
Etnia names natural acetate from Mazzucchelli and mineral lenses from Barberini among its materials. Optical frames also use metal and titanium. These choices cover different weights, shapes and finishes across the line, rather than a single frame construction.
Lens choices
Sunglasses are offered with tinted, gradient, mirrored, photochromic and polarized HD lenses. The company groups some lenses by setting, including everyday wear, driving, mountain, sea and snow. The optical collection serves prescription use, with fit and lens compatibility varying by model.
Barcelona and culture
The brand describes Barcelona as a continuing influence on its identity and links its designs with colour and art. Since 2016, the Etnia Barcelona Foundation has supported access to eye care for people with limited resources through glasses and community projects. This social work sits alongside the commercial eyewear business.
