Florena
WebsiteFlorena is a German skin care brand with roots in the cosmetics factory founded by pharmacist Adolf Heinrich Bergmann in Waldheim in 1852. The Florena name was registered as a trademark in 1920. Today the brand is owned by Beiersdorf and offers face, hand and body care products.
From Waldheim cosmetics
Bergmann's factory produced soaps and body care products and became known for tooth soap, an early precursor to toothpaste. The firm was nationalized in 1946. Florena skin cream followed in 1955, along with bath soap and nut oil products.
Brand and company history
Florena expanded beyond Germany from the 1960s, exporting creams, soaps and fragrance products. After German reunification, the company was privatized as Florena Cosmetic GmbH. Beiersdorf became its sole owner in 2002.
Current skin care
The official range is organized around face care, cleansing, hand care and body care. Product types include day and night creams, hand creams, cleansing wipes and body cream. The catalog changes over time, so the brand site provides the current selection.
Ingredients and routines
Current product pages list formulas featuring ingredients such as shea butter, argan oil, olive oil, aloe vera, grape seed oil, chamomile and Q10. These products are intended for daily routines, with options for different skin types and areas of the body.
A continuing German brand
Florena's current positioning focuses on skin care with selected active ingredients. The brand's history links a Waldheim cosmetics maker to a contemporary Beiersdorf portfolio, while the range remains centered on practical products for everyday face, hand and body care.
