Gränsfors Bruk
WebsiteGränsfors Bruk is a Swedish axe forge in the village of Gränsfors in northern Hälsingland, between Hudiksvall and Sundsvall. Anders Pettersson formed the limited company in 1902 and took over the forge there, and the village's forging tradition goes back to the 19th century. Today about 30 people work in production and sales, and 80 % of the production is exported to 30 countries.
Features
- Hand-forged axes for different jobs: forest axes, splitting axes, sloyd axes, double bit axes and tools for log building and carpentry.
- Every axe is signed with the initials of the smith who forged it, as a guarantee of quality.
- Care and repair products, sharpening products, replacement handles and leather sheaths.
- Visitor offers at the factory: an axe museum, a factory store, a restaurant and courses in forging and log building.
Range and limits
Gränsfors Bruk makes axes and related tools, not knives or multi-tools. The forge is small, so axes are made in limited quantities.
