Hästens

Hästens is a Swedish bed maker from Köping. The company started in 1852 as a one-man saddlery and is still run by the founding family: Jan Ryde, fifth generation, is CEO and owner. Beds, mattresses and bedding are made by hand in Köping and sold through Hästens stores and selected partners in many countries.

• Beds built around a pocket spring system, in which every spring sits in its own breathable pocket
• Natural fillings: horsehair (A-Lyx and J-horsehair), cotton, wool and flax
• Models from the flagship Grand Vividus and the Vividus to the long-running 2000T
• Continental beds, frame beds and adjustable beds, plus pillows, duvets and other bedding
• Custom sizes: the 2000T is available up to 400 x 400 cm

Price and limits

Hästens sits at the very top of the market. According to the manufacturer's European site (October 2026), the 2000T starts at 31,390 euros and the Grand Vividus at 656,990 euros. There is no budget line, and testing a bed usually means a visit to a Hästens store.
