Magimix is a French maker of food processors and other kitchen appliances. The history goes back to 1961, when Pierre Verdun, a butcher from Montceau-les-Mines in Burgundy, and Robert Comte built the first food preparation machine with a blade at the bottom of the bowl. The first compact domestic food processor appeared on 1 March 1971 under the brand name Magimix.
