SoSci Survey

SoSci Survey is online survey software from SoSci Survey GmbH in Munich, Germany. It grew out of a project at the Institute for Communication Science and Media Research at LMU Munich in 2003, became publicly available in 2006 and has been run by the GmbH since 2014. The tool is aimed at researchers, students and market researchers who need more control than a simple form builder offers. Scientific projects without a commercial client can use it for free.

Pricing and limitations

Non-commercial research is free. Commercial surveys are paid, starting at 49 euros plus VAT according to the provider, and the own-server licence is sold separately. SoSci Survey is not open source. The editor is designed for researchers, so it takes more time to learn than a quick form builder, and the interface is available in German and English.
