The Guardian
WebsiteThe Guardian is a British daily newspaper and news website based at Kings Place in London. It was founded in Manchester in 1821 as The Manchester Guardian, took its present name in 1959 and moved to London. It belongs to the Guardian Media Group, which is owned by the Scott Trust Limited. The trust was created in 1936 to secure the financial and editorial independence of the paper, so profits are reinvested in journalism rather than paid out to owners. A 2018 survey found The Guardian to be the most trusted source of digital news among the British titles tested.
