Union

Union is a Slovenian beer brand of Pivovarna Union in Ljubljana. The dragon is the brewery's symbol and is tied to its founding story, which the brewery places about one and a half centuries ago with the Kosler brothers and the groundwater source beneath the site. Laško took the majority of Union Brewery in 2005, and since the 2016 merger the brand belongs to Pivovarna Laško Union, which is controlled by the Dutch group Heineken.

The brand website presents the dragon as fearless and ties the beer to the water source below the brewery. Union Brewery was bought by Laško in 2005, and Laško itself was acquired by Heineken in 2015, which means Union beer is today sold within the same Slovenian company as Laško. Heineken said at the time it intended to preserve both beers rather than merge them into one.
