Upsun

Upsun, formerly Platform.sh, is a platform as a service from France. The company is Platform.sh SAS doing business as Upsun, with its head office in Paris, and says that more than 16,000 developers use it. It runs applications across five clouds and 14 regions.

Features

• Git-driven infrastructure: configuration lives in YAML files in the repository.
• Every branch can become a fully independent environment with a copy of the database, search index and files, which gives each feature its own preview environment.
• Services such as MySQL, Elasticsearch and MongoDB run inside the cluster and are part of the price.
• The production cluster can be cloned including its data in under a minute.
• A free trial is available.

Limits

Upsun targets agencies and companies with several environments per project rather than single static sites. The multi-cloud approach means that the chosen region, not the Paris head office, decides where data is stored.
