Syrups are the concentrated flavours that coffee shops, bars and many households use to flavour drinks. This page lists four syrup brands with a European headquarters: Monin, Teisseire and 1883 Maison Routin from France and Riemerschmid from Germany. The seat of the company counts, not where the fruit was grown.

Who owns the syrup brands?

Monin describes itself as a family business founded in 1912 in Bourges. Teisseire began in Grenoble in 1720 and was acquired in 2010 by the British group Britvic, which joined Carlsberg in 2025. Riemerschmid belongs to the Underberg group in Switzerland, which has owned it since 1996. For 1883 Maison Routin, the website names only the company ROUTIN S.A.S. in Chambéry, and no owner outside Europe is known.

What the brands offer

Monin sells its syrups, fruit purées and sauces in more than 150 flavours, while Teisseire is known for tubes, bottles and dosing bottles, a no-added-sugar Zero range and syrups with up to 85 percent fruit. 1883 Maison Routin addresses bartenders and baristas, and Riemerschmid separates fruit syrups for the household from bar syrups for professionals. The product pages list what each company states about its range and nothing beyond that.

What is missing

Other European syrup makers are not listed yet, and the Monin and Routin websites also show an age gate because the companies sell alcohol-based products too. This page covers only their syrups. Syrup brands from the USA and Asia are outside this list.
