BWT

BWT is an Austrian water technology company with headquarters in Mondsee. The origin is Benckiser Wasser Technik, which was turned into BWT in 1990 through a management buyout led by Andreas Weißenbacher. The company was first based in Hallein and moved to Mondsee two years later. In 2020 it celebrated its 30th anniversary.

BWT stands for the magnesium filter jug, a product line that enriches filtered water with magnesium. Besides household products, the company supplies treatment systems for drinking water, pharmaceuticals and heating systems, which makes it larger than a pure jug brand. It also sells a subscription service for filter cartridges through its online shop.
