Cyso Cloud
WebsiteCyso Cloud is the OpenStack public cloud of the Dutch hosting company Cyso Group in Alkmaar, which has operated since 1997. It started in 2016 as Fuga Cloud and was taken over by Cyso on 1 January 2025. This entry covers the compute platform; the storage service is listed separately as Cyso Cloud Object Storage.
Features
- Virtual machines in many sizes, including recently added low-priced VM flavours.
- Managed Kubernetes with a 99.9% SLA, S3-compatible object storage, cloud load balancers and anycast DNS as a service.
- Cloud databases and an identity service are in beta; a transactional email service has been added.
- Built on OpenStack, so standard OpenStack tooling applies.
- Cyso states that data stays within EU borders; its infrastructure is certified to ISO 27001 and NEN 7510, the Dutch healthcare security standard.
Limits
The platform is regional and smaller than the large European clouds. It adds no own layer on top of OpenStack apart from the console, and several managed services such as databases are still in beta. Its independence from foreign owners is the main selling point for Dutch public bodies and companies.
