Hochland

Hochland SE is a German cheese maker headquartered in Heimenkirch in the Allgäu. It was founded in 1927, is 100 percent family owned and counts among the largest private cheese producers in Europe, with more than 6,300 employees worldwide.

• Hochland: processed cheese slices, spreads and portions
• Almette: fresh cream cheese for spreading
• Grünländer: semi-hard sliced and block cheese
• Patros: Hirtenkäse in Mediterranean style
• Gervais: fresh cheese brand
• Simply V: vegan alternatives to cheese

Hochland works in four business areas: brands, private label, B2B and food service. Production sites are spread across several European countries. The group also owns the engineering company Natec, which builds plants for food production.

Ownership

The company is entirely in family hands, with no outside investor or foreign parent. Part of the volume is private label for retailers, so Hochland cheese does not always appear under the Hochland name.
