Mason Pearson

Website

Mason Pearson is a British family business that makes hairbrushes in England. Its roots go back to the Industrial Revolution, when the engineer Mason Pearson developed a brush-boring machine and, in 1885, the pneumatic rubber-cushion hairbrush. The company is still family run and makes its brushes by hand in the London area.

The brushes are among the best known luxury hairbrushes in the UK.

History

Mason Pearson began the business in the 1850s. After his death in 1906 his widow Mary ran the firm for about 20 years with their eldest son, and it became known as Mason Pearson Brothers. The company stayed at Old Ford Road in East London until 1986, then moved to Stratford and relocated again in 2009. It still describes itself as a British family business.
