Website

Moleskine is an Italian notebook brand from Milan. The company began as Modo&Modo, a small Milanese publisher that in 1997 brought back the black notebook with an elastic band and established the Moleskine trademark. The brand presents the notebook as the heir of the notebooks used by artists and thinkers such as Van Gogh, Picasso and Hemingway.

Range

  • Classic hardcover and softcover notebooks in several sizes and rulings
  • Planners, diaries and journals
  • Sketch books and art notebooks for drawing
  • Bags, writing instruments and accessories

Ownership

The Belgian D'Ieteren Group acquired the company in 2016 and took it off the stock exchange at the end of that year. D'Ieteren is based in Brussels, so Moleskine counts as an Italian brand with European ownership. The notebooks are sold in stores and online worldwide, and the brand is regarded as a classic among notebooks for travel, office and study.
