T Cloud Public

Website

T Cloud Public is the public cloud of Deutsche Telekom, operated by T-Systems International GmbH in Bonn. It was launched in 2016 as Open Telekom Cloud and was renamed in 2026. The platform is based on OpenStack and aimed at companies, public bodies and research institutions in Europe.

Features

  • Compute with GPU options, containers, block and object storage, networking, databases, big data and AI services, plus managed services run by Telekom staff.
  • Regions in Germany (a twin-core region in Biere and Magdeburg), the Netherlands and, as a separate offer, Switzerland.
  • Audited against BSI C5:2020 (Type II) and certified to ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018; TISAX is listed as well.
  • Pay-as-you-go pricing with a price calculator; new accounts received a 250 euro starting credit until the end of 2026.

Sovereignty and limits

Telekom markets the platform as a sovereign European cloud. T-Systems itself states that the cloud operating system, a Huawei OpenStack distribution, is a central component and that servers come from Huawei as well as Western vendors, with a second hardware supplier being added. Processors and graphics cards come from Intel and NVIDIA. Telekom says no US hyperscaler software is used. Anyone who wants a stack without Chinese components should read these details first.
