tesa

tesa is a German manufacturer of self-adhesive tapes and system solutions, headquartered in Norderstedt near Hamburg and a Beiersdorf company. The story begins with the pharmacist Paul C. Beiersdorf's work on an adhesive bandage. After Dr. Oscar Troplowitz took over the lab, the company launched the first technical adhesive tape in 1896. The clear tape tesafilm followed in 1936, and its name is still used for adhesive tape in German-speaking countries.
