Toradex

Website

Toradex is a Swiss company from Horw near Lucerne that specializes in embedded computing. It was founded in 2003 and has offices in the United States, Brazil, India, Vietnam, China and Japan. Toradex builds Arm-based computer-on-modules and the software that goes with them for companies that develop their own industrial and medical products.

Features

  • Verdin family of computer-on-modules, for example Verdin Mallow, Verdin Ivy and Verdin Zinnia
  • Carrier boards and development kits for evaluation and prototyping
  • Torizon, a Linux-based, container-oriented software platform with remote updates
  • Customer-specific solutions after the acquisition of Linear Computing in April 2024

Good to know

Toradex products are aimed at companies, not at hobby use. A module is not a ready-to-use computer: it needs a carrier board and software work from the customer. Beginners usually start with the simpler boards from the other brands in this list.
