TP-Link makes routers, mesh Wi-Fi systems, switches and smart home devices. TP-Link Systems Inc. is headquartered in Irvine, California. According to its fact sheet, the company began separating from TP-LINK Technologies Co., Ltd., which serves the mainland Chinese market, in 2022 and established TP-Link Systems Inc. as its global parent in October 2024.

Why consider European alternatives to TP-Link?

Some buyers prefer a company headquartered in Europe, for reasons of data protection and local support. This page lists European router and network brands. Their ranges differ from TP-Link's broad offer, which also covers extenders and smart home accessories.

What the European brands offer

  • FRITZ! (AVM): routers and mesh products from Berlin for homes and small offices.
  • devolo: Wi-Fi 7 mesh systems and Powerline adapters from Aachen.
  • MikroTik: configurable routers and switches from Latvia for users who know networking.
  • Teltonika Networks: cellular routers and gateways from Lithuania.
