Bitvavo

Bitvavo is a Dutch crypto exchange headquartered in Amsterdam. Mark Nuvelstijn, Tim Baardse and Jelle de Boer founded it in 2018. Bitvavo describes itself as the market leader in the Benelux region and reports nearly two million users. It holds a MiCA licence as a crypto-asset service provider from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM).

Good to know

The Bitvavo Account Guarantee may reimburse up to 100,000 euros in case of losses through unauthorised access to an account. It does not cover price losses, and crypto assets can lose their whole value. Bitvavo is a privately held company, and no majority owner is documented.
