Bulgari (also written Bvlgari) is an Italian luxury house founded in Rome in 1884 by the Greek silversmith Sotirio Bulgari. The company is still headquartered in Rome. Since 2011 it has been part of the French luxury group LVMH, which acquired Bulgari from the founding family in a share exchange. Within LVMH it belongs to the Watches & Jewelry division, and its operational headquarters stayed in Rome. Sotirio Bulgari opened his first shop in the heart of Rome.
