Coolblue

Coolblue is a Dutch online retailer for consumer electronics and household appliances, headquartered in Rotterdam. It was founded in 1999 and sells in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The company also operates a number of physical stores, 38 as of 2025 according to public sources.

Ownership and limits

Coolblue is privately held. The founders hold the largest share and the Dutch investment company HAL Investments has held 49 percent since 2019, so the company remains in European hands. The shop serves only three countries and is not a marketplace, so the range is narrower than at large platforms. According to public sources the company employed about 6,000 people in 2022 and runs a distribution centre of roughly 88,000 square metres.
