Ferrino
WebsiteFerrino is an Italian outdoor brand headquartered in Turin. Cesare Ferrino founded it in 1870 in a paint shop, where he developed waterproof fabrics. The company is managed by the Ferrino and Rabajoli families.
Products
The range covers tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories, cooking and drinking gear, and outdoor apparel. Ferrino also owns the Baldas snowshoe brand, acquired in 2008. Alongside trekking and camping gear it makes expedition tents, and in 2014 it launched the Full Safe backpack, which combines an airbag, a breathing system and a RECCO reflector for avalanche safety.
Testing
Since 1994 Ferrino has run HighLab, a high-altitude test laboratory at the Quintino Sella refuge on Monte Rosa, where materials and prototypes are tested. Its tents have been used on expeditions for over a century. Ferrino also sells directly through its own web shop.
