GamersGate
WebsiteGamersGate is a Swedish digital game store based in Stockholm. Paradox Interactive conceived it in 2004 and launched it in 2006, and in 2008 it was separated into the independent company GamersGate AB. The store sells downloadable games for Windows, macOS and Linux from more than 250 publishers and developers, from large publishers to small independent studios.
Features
- Catalogue of several thousand games with downloads and activation keys.
- Some titles are offered DRM-free, depending on the publisher.
- Regular sales, bundles and price drops in the euro and other currencies.
- Strategy guides and extra content as digital products.
Limits
GamersGate is a store, not a platform with its own social features. Many purchases are activated on Steam or on publisher launchers, so the account there stays necessary. The company is much smaller than the market leader, and its catalogue changes with the publishers' agreements.
