Primus

Primus is a Swedish maker of outdoor stoves and cooking equipment. The brand dates back to 1892, and its founders invented the first soot-free kerosene stove. Since April 2023 Primus has belonged to Silva Sweden AB, which bought 100 % of the shares from Fenix Outdoor. The two Swedish brands now run in one company, Primus-Silva Sweden AB. Silva has been owned by the Nordic growth investor Verdane since 2021.

Features

• Stoves for backpacking, camping and expeditions, including storm stoves and top-mounted gas stove systems with piezo ignition.
• Pots, pans, mugs, plates, cutlery, kitchen tools and knives.
• Thermos flasks, water bottles and insulated food bottles.
• Gas and fuel bottles, lamps and lanterns, spare parts and an adapter guide.

Range and limits

Primus concentrates on cooking and drinking gear, not on tents or clothing. Silva and Primus say that their assortments overlap only a little. Products are sold through retailers and via the brand's own online shops.
