Venchi
WebsiteVenchi is an Italian chocolate and gelato company with a history dating back to 1878. Its collection spans chocolate bars, pralines, gianduja, spreads, seasonal gifts and freshly prepared gelato. The company presents its products as expressions of Italian confectionery and uses ingredients such as Piedmont hazelnuts in selected recipes. Venchi sells through its online shops, authorised retailers and directly operated boutiques. Its current company story describes more than 350 chocolate recipes, 90 gelato flavours and over 200 directly operated stores in more than 70 countries.
A chocolate story that began in Turin
Venchi's history began when Silviano Venchi started experimenting with chocolate in a small Turin workshop in 1878. One of the brand's signature creations is Nougatine, introduced in 1922 and built around a caramelised hazelnut covered in dark chocolate. The original workshop grew into a larger Italian business and eventually into an international brand. After a period of difficulty, three entrepreneurs took over and relaunched the company. Venchi later established a new factory in Cuneo, in the Piedmont region. These milestones connect the brand's present day assortment with a long regional tradition of chocolate making.
Chocolate, pralines and Italian gelato
The official catalogue includes dark, milk and white chocolate bars, gift boxes, pralines, spreads and recipes such as Cremino and Gianduiotto. Chocoviar is another recognised line, with chocolate pearls used in several products. Venchi also operates Chocogelateria boutiques that serve fresh gelato alongside chocolate. The company describes more than 350 chocolate recipes and 90 gelato flavours on its heritage page. Its store information highlights Italian gelato, chocolate tasting and gift collections, while product pages provide details for individual ingredients, flavours and pack sizes.
Italian operations and an international company
Venchi S.p.A. is an Italian joint stock company. Its official privacy information lists a registered office in Milan and an administrative office with production in Castelletto Stura, near Cuneo. Venchi's online store currently reports over 200 directly operated boutiques across more than 70 countries. A report published by the Italian Private Equity, Venture Capital and Private Debt Association in April 2026 names Daniele Ferrero as the reference shareholder with 26.12 percent. It also lists Italian shareholders, Hong Kong based Nuo Partners with 8.62 percent and Saudi based Dara Holdings, for which it gives no percentage. The report does not document a non-European shareholder with 50 percent or more. On that public evidence, the non-European parent field is false.
