BrewDog

Website

BrewDog is a Scottish craft brewery. James Watt and Martin Dickie founded it in April 2007, aged 24, in Fraserburgh and moved to a larger brewery in Ellon in 2012, where it still brews. The brand's Punk IPA is the beer it credits with starting its rise in craft beer, and the company became known for its Equity for Punks crowdfunding from 2010.

Range

  • Craft beers from the Ellon brewery, led by Punk IPA
  • Bars and brewpubs in the United Kingdom and Ireland, eleven of them taken over in the 2026 sale
  • Online shop for craft beer

Ownership

In 2026 the original BrewDog company went into administration, and Tilray Brands UK Ltd acquired its assets on 2 March 2026. Tilray's announcement describes the deal as the global brand, the UK brewing operations and eleven brewpubs for £33 million. Tilray Brands is a US-listed group (Nasdaq and TSX), so BrewDog now carries the non-European parent flag even though the brewery still sits in Scotland.
