BRIO Logo

BRIO is a Swedish toy brand from Osby in Skåne, best known for its wooden railway. The story began in 1884, when Ivar Bengtsson invested his savings in a business selling wooden baskets. In 1907 he launched the Osby Wooden Horse, and when the business passed to his sons, it was renamed BRIO, short for the Ivarsson brothers of Osby. Since 2015 BRIO has been part of the German Ravensburger Group.

Range

  • Classic toys such as the pull-along dachshund and the stacking clown from the 1950s
  • Toys for babies and toddlers

Good to know

BRIO says it designs toys that support children's development and trigger creativity, in a bold, colourful and interactive style. According to BRIO, the wooden railway, the pull-along dachshund and the stacking clown are as popular today as in the 1950s. Because BRIO belongs to Ravensburger, the website brio.net now leads to the Ravensburger shop.
