Website

schleich is a German toy company from Schwäbisch Gmünd, known for hand-painted animal figures and play sets. Friedrich Schleich founded the company in 1935, and the brand celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2025. Since 2019 it has belonged to the Swiss investor Partners Group, which acquired it from the French investment company Ardian.

Range

  • Wild Life, Farm World and Horse Club figures that depict animals in a realistic way
  • Fantasy worlds such as Bayala and Eldrador
  • Dinosaurs, play sets and accessories
  • Licensed lines such as Harry Potter and Die Schule der magischen Tiere, plus the Mini Mates collectible figures

Good to know

Partners Group stated at the acquisition that schleich is sold in over 50 countries and highlights the quality, attention to detail and realistic design of its figures. The figures are intended for imaginative play and help train children's motor skills. Switzerland is in Europe, so the ownership by a Swiss investor does not make schleich a non-European company.
