Douglas

Douglas is a German perfume and beauty retailer with its head office in Düsseldorf. The company dates its beginnings to 1821 in Hamburg, and the DOUGLAS Group calls itself the leading omnichannel premium beauty destination in Europe. The group lists around 1,850 stores plus online shops and apps on its website, and about 19,900 employees, including around 16,600 beauty experts (financial year 2023/24).

Range

Douglas sells perfume, make-up, skin care, hair care and body care from well-known beauty brands. In the 2024/2025 financial year, the group reported net sales of 4.58 billion euros and adjusted EBITDA of 768 million euros.

Where to find it

The group states that it is active in a total of 27 European countries and concentrates its omnichannel business on 22 of them (financial year 2023/24). Stores, online shops and the app belong together as one business, and all DOUGLAS Group brands are also sold online.

Ownership

Douglas has been listed on the stock exchange in Germany since March 2024. After the IPO the free float was around 31.8 percent, while the investment firm CVC Capital Partners and the Kreke family kept their indirect holding of about two thirds. CVC is a European firm, so no non-European holder controls the company.
