Dr. Max

Dr. Max is a European pharmacy group headquartered in Prague. The group says it was founded in the Czech Republic in 2004. It is owned by the investment group Penta Investments. Dr. Max is mainly a chain of physical pharmacies, and it also runs several online pharmacies, which is why it is listed here.

Size

At the end of 2025 the group operated approximately 3,200 pharmacies in six core markets: the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Poland, Italy and Serbia. Revenue was 6.3 billion euros, and the group had more than 22,000 employees. Its wholesale and marketing business reaches 18 European countries.

Online pharmacy

In 2025 the group's e-commerce platforms handled more than 14.9 million online transactions and generated 447 million euros in revenue, supported by five e-shops across Europe. The online pharmacy offers access to over 30,000 products. More than 55 percent of online orders were collected in a pharmacy, and customers can reserve prescription and over-the-counter medicines online, with pharmacist oversight.
