Gösser
WebsiteGösser is an Austrian beer brand of Brau Union Österreich AG, a brewing company with its registered seat in Linz. The brand says its tradition reaches back more than 1,000 years, which makes it one of the oldest beer brands in Austria. Its brewing water comes from its own spring protection area, the barley from Austrian farmers and the hops from Leutschach.
Range
- Märzen as the classic Gösser beer, plus further lagers and seasonal beers
- Gösser Falkenweizen, a wheat beer launched in autumn 2026 in selected gastronomy and exclusively at the Tyrolean supermarket chain MPREIS
- Gösseum, a visitor centre at the brewery in Göss with interactive stations on the history of brewing
Ownership
Brau Union Österreich was formed in 1998 from the merger of Österreichische Brau AG and Steirerbrau. It has belonged to the Dutch brewing group Heineken since 2003, so Gösser carries no non-European parent flag. The brand site asks visitors to confirm they are at least 16 years old.
