HORNBACH

HORNBACH is a German DIY and garden retailer. The listed group is run from Bornheim in the Palatinate, and its largest operating company, HORNBACH Baumarkt AG, runs large-format home improvement and garden centres in nine European countries.

• Large stores that combine building materials, tools, paint, flooring, bathrooms, kitchens and a garden centre under one roof
• A building materials trading arm, HORNBACH Baustoff Union, which sells mainly to trade customers

According to the company, HORNBACH Baumarkt AG operates 175 DIY and garden centres plus three specialist stores in nine European countries (company website, 2026). The group employs around 25,500 people and reached net sales of about 6.4 billion euros in the financial year 2025/26, which ended on 28 February 2026. More than half of the sales of the Baumarkt subgroup now come from outside Germany: 3,233 million euros of 6,082 million euros in 2025/26, against 2,849 million euros in Germany.
