Joya

Joya is an Austrian brand of plant-based drinks, yoghurt alternatives and cooking products. It is made by Mona Naturprodukte GmbH, which gives a business address in Vienna and produces in Oberwart in Burgenland. The roots go back to the dairy founded in Oberwart in 1926, which became the first dairy in Europe to switch its production completely to plant-based milk alternatives. Mona Naturprodukte and the Joya brand, a mix of enjoy and soya, started in 2003.

Ownership

• Plant-based drinks from oats, soy, almonds and other bases, including barista versions
• Plant-based yoghurt alternatives, the first being a soy yoghurt alternative from 2004, and cuisine products for cooking
• Soy beans and oats that come only from Europe, according to the brand

Outlook

Joya has belonged to the US group Hain Celestial since 2015, so it carries the non-European parent flag. On 14 September 2026 Hain Celestial announced an agreement to sell its international business, including Joya and Natumi, to the German private equity firm Aurelius for about USD 323 million in cash. The flag should be reviewed once the sale has closed.
