Kiwi.com
WebsiteKiwi.com is a Czech online travel agency for flights. It was founded in 2012 by Oliver Dlouhý and Jozef Képesi under the name Skypicker, and Kiwi.com s.r.o. has its registered office in Prague. The platform is known for virtual interlining: its algorithm combines flights from airlines that do not cooperate, including low-cost carriers, into one itinerary, which is often cheaper than a single airline ticket.
Features
- Search over many airlines, including connections that no single airline sells
- Self-transfer itineraries with notices about luggage and visa requirements
- Booking and customer support in many languages and currencies
Ownership and limits
In 2019 the US growth investor General Atlantic bought a majority stake, and it was still called the majority shareholder in 2022. The founders remained significant shareholders. Kiwi.com therefore carries a notice for a non-European parent. In self-transfer itineraries travellers have to collect and recheck luggage and may need visas for layover countries, as the terms point out.
