Leroy Merlin

Leroy Merlin is the largest brand of the French home improvement group ADEO, whose registered office is in Ronchin near Lille. The business goes back to 1923. Its stores serve both private customers and professionals.

Where to find it

ADEO reports 21 countries, six retail brands and 115,000 employees, with a turnover of 32.7 billion euros including tax in 2025 (ADEO press release, 2 April 2026). The first store outside France opened in Spain in 1989. Later the group opened Leroy Merlin stores in Italy, Poland, Portugal and Greece, among other markets. The company also owns Weldom, Bricocenter and the professional banner "M".

Ownership

ADEO is a French group controlled by the Mulliez family. Employees hold 12.5 percent of the capital, and 80,000 employees are shareholders. No non-European parent is involved.
