Lexware Office (lexoffice)

Website

Lexware Office, formerly lexoffice, is a cloud accounting program from Lexware, the small-business software brand of the Haufe Group in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. Lexware was founded in Freiburg in 1989 and has belonged to the family-led Haufe Group since 1993. The program is aimed at freelancers, sole traders, start-ups and small companies, including GbR, UG and GmbH, that do their own bookkeeping.

Features

  • Invoices, quotes and reminders, including e-invoices, recurring invoices and partial invoices.
  • Receipt capture by phone photo or scan, with bank transactions matched automatically through multibanking.
  • VAT advance returns sent to the tax office through ELSTER, plus income statement (EÜR) and annual accounts.
  • DATEV export for the tax adviser and GoBD-compliant archiving.
  • An optional payroll module for wages and salaries.

Plans and limits

Lexware Office is sold as a subscription in four plans (S, M, L and XL). Lexware states that the product has well over 450,000 customers. It is built around German tax and bookkeeping rules such as ELSTER, DATEV and GoBD, so it suits businesses in Germany rather than companies with foreign tax obligations.
