Manor

Website

Manor is the largest department store group in Switzerland. Its history goes back to 1902, when the wholesalers Ernest and Henri Maus and the retailer Léon Nordmann opened the department store "Léon Nordmann" on the Weggisgasse in Lucerne. The name Manor later grew out of this cooperation.

Range

  • Fashion and accessories, perfumery, jewellery, toys, multimedia, sports and travel, household and furnishings, plus supermarkets
  • More than one million articles from about 2,800 suppliers, including around 700 local producers, and an online shop with about 500,000 articles and a marketplace for selected brands

Where to find it

The group operates 56 Manor department stores, 21 Manor Food supermarkets and 23 Manora restaurants in all parts of Switzerland, with about 6,800 employees (company facts page, 2026). Around half of the online customers have their orders delivered to a Manor store.

Ownership

Manor says that it is still 100 percent owned by the founding families or their successors. There is no non-European parent.
