Shopware

Shopware is an e-commerce platform from Schöppingen in Germany. The brothers Stefan and Sebastian Hamann founded Shopware AG in 2000, and in 2022 the company took its first outside funding, 100 million dollars from PayPal and Carlyle. The core software is open source under the MIT licence.

Costs and limits

On the pricing page Rise starts at 600 euros and Evolve at 2,400 euros per month excluding VAT, Beyond is priced individually. This is a clear step up from a small-shop subscription, so Shopware fits mid-sized and B2B merchants better than hobby shops.
