Statcounter is a web analytics service from Dublin, Ireland. Aodhán Cullen founded it in 1999 at the age of 16 and still leads the company, which says it is trusted on more than one million websites. Statcounter is also known for its free global statistics on browser, search engine and operating system market shares.

Pricing and limits

A free plan covers 5,000 sessions per month with 14 days of data retention. Paid plans are priced by session volume and keep data for three or five years. Statcounter lists a 30-day free trial of all features without a credit card. Because the live feed shows individual visits, it is less of a counting-only tool than Plausible Analytics or Simple Analytics, so consent and privacy policy need a check before use.
