Wallapop

Website

Wallapop is a mobile-first marketplace for second-hand goods, headquartered in Barcelona. It is one of the biggest marketplace apps in Spain and also operates in Italy. Users sell electronics, fashion, furniture, vehicles and many other items locally or with shipping.

Features

  • App-based listings with photos, chat, and filters by distance.
  • Shipping and payment protection for items sent through the platform.
  • Free listings for private users and paid professional options.

Ownership

Until 2025 Wallapop was owned by investors including Accel, Insight Partners and 14W. The Korean internet group Naver bought the remaining 70.5 percent and completed the acquisition on 30 January 2026, so Wallapop is now fully owned by Naver. The company keeps its headquarters and management in Barcelona. It is therefore marked as having a non-European parent. Reports put the purchase price at about 600 million euros, and Insight Partners describes Wallapop as a pure mobile marketplace app.
