Motorcycle helmets sold in Europe must be approved to the UN regulation ECE 22.06, the current version, which Caberg explains on its website. Schuberth tests in its own wind tunnel, climate test bench and acoustics lab, and Nolan builds its helmets with EPS shells of different densities in different zones. Schuberth, Nolan (under the N-Com name) and Caberg also sell communication systems for their helmets. A helmet that fits properly matters more than any single feature, so trying several brands is sensible.
AGV is an Italian brand, but its parent Dainese has belonged since January 2026 to the investment firms HPS (part of BlackRock) and Arcmont (affiliated with Nuveen), both with US parent groups. That is why AGV is marked as having a non-European parent. Dainese's clothing and protective gear is listed in the motorcycle clothing category.
The two best-known premium makers outside Europe are Shoei and Arai from Japan, and HJC comes from South Korea. None of them is listed here, and there is an alternatives page for Shoei. French and Spanish helmet brands are not included yet.
