dm-drogerie markt is a drugstore chain from Karlsruhe in Germany. Götz W. Werner founded it there in 1973. In the 2024/2025 financial year (ending 30 September 2025), dm reported 4,189 stores across Europe, including 2,154 in Germany, more than 93,000 employees, 14 European countries and gross sales of 19.197 billion euros.

Range and own brands

dm sells skin and body care, cosmetics, baby products, household and cleaning products, health items and organic dry goods. It has run own brands since 1986, among them Denkmit for cleaning products (since 1990) and Balea for personal care (since 1995). dm's website counts 28 dm brands in total. In organic dry goods, dm says it became a market leader in Germany and sold more than one billion euros of them in 2024/2025.

Beyond Germany, dm operates in thirteen further European countries, which grew sales by 12.1 percent to 5.918 billion euros in 2024/2025. For the new financial year, the company announced a moderate increase in the number of sites and an investment of more than 250 million euros.
